Choo Mi-ae shouted ‘impeachment’… Yong Hye-in “President Yoon must follow the people’s orders”

“If President Yoon Seok-yeol sincerely reflects, if he sincerely wants national unity, he must follow the orders of the people gathered here.” (Basic Income Party Standing Representative Yong Hye-in) At a rally calling for the ‘impeachment’ of President Yoon Seok-yeol, former Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae

; Key political figures, including Yong Hye-in, standing representative of the Basic Income Party, appeared. Citizens who filled the road from in front of Sungnyemun Gate to Seoul Plaza chanted, “Let’s oust Yoon Seok-yeol through a national uprising,” and “It is the people’s command. Impeach Yoon Seok-yeol.”

At the ‘Candlelight March for Special Prosecutor Kim Kun-hee’s Resignation of Yoon Seok-yeol’ held near City Hall Station in Seoul on the 21st, Standing Representative Yong said, “It is so difficult to say a word of reflection, so the person who drove the people and the opposition party into communist totalitarianism is now saying that he will reflect on it ahead of the general election.” I took it off.

He added, “But President Yoon still speaks in an out-of-body way, saying, ‘I don’t know what my fault is, and my staff is making a mistake,’” adding, “It’s truly cowardly.” He said, “Is there anyone who knows what the National Integration Committee proposed for national unity and the people’s livelihood?” He said, “The only thing the Integration Committee did was to have a dinner with the president and the ruling party after the (Gangseo-gu mayor) election.”

“You said you were going to reflect, but it was just a dinner party… Don’t just say things, but keep your promises.”

Meanwhile, Standing Representative Yong proposed five tasks to President Yoon, including a demand to stop discharging contaminated water from Fukushima and excluding far-right personnel from running state affairs. He emphasized, “We must stop acting as the head of Tokyo Electric Power Company’s Yongsan branch and demand that Japan stop discharging nuclear contaminated water solely for the safety of our people.”

He went on to say, “To stop the ideological war that undermines the people’s self-esteem, the first thing to do is to put General Hong Beom-do back in his place,” and added, “New Right far-right figures must be immediately excluded from running state affairs.” Specifically, they called for the dismissal of Minister of National Defense Shin Won-sik, Minister of Unification Kim Young-ho, and Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs Park Min-sik.

In addition, Standing Representative Yong said, “We must meet the families of the victims of the Itaewon and Osong disasters and sincerely apologize,” and added, “The National Assembly must also pass the Special Act on the Itaewon Disaster and the Framework Act on Life Safety, which the families of the Sewol Ferry Disaster have been demanding with their blood boiling.” He also called for the dismissal of Chairman Lee Dong-gwan of the Korea Communications Commission, saying, “Rather than just paying lip service to reflection, put into practice the promise that ‘the voice of the people is always right.’”

Former Minister Chu also picked up the microphone. He said, “You used to scold ministers to fight with the people’s representatives, and now they say that the people are always right and take care of the people’s livelihood. Now that you lost the election, are you a little scared?” He added, “Ignoring the injustice of a firefighter father who was happy that his son went to the Marine Corps is a shame.” “Is it the people’s livelihood?” he asked.

He then asked, “Is it justice to indict and punish a Marine굿모닝토토 도메인 Corps investigator who said that a commander should be investigated for ordering to rush into the water and failing to provide safety equipment?” and “What on earth is the use of putting on a show of communication when the rule of law is collapsing and the people’s confidence is collapsing?” He raised his voice and said, “Are you saying you want to do it? You have to come down.”

Choo Mi-ae “The risk to the people’s livelihood is President Yoon Seok-yeol himself”

Former Minister Chu said, “Will the livelihood of the people be improved if we drastically increase the subsidy for the Federation of Liberal Arts and waste the science budget?” and “Will the livelihood of the people be improved if we increase the travel budget to tens of billions of billions and travel abroad every month on a private plane?” He called for impeachment, emphasizing that “the risk to the people’s livelihood is President Yoon Seok-yeol himself. He is the enemy of fairness and the rule of law,” and “the risk to the collapsing economy and security is also the president himself.”

Former Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission Chairman Jeon Hyun-hee, who was under pressure from the ruling party to resign after being appointed during the Moon Jae-in administration, also attended the rally. He began by introducing Article 10 of the Constitution, which stipulates the people’s right to pursue happiness, and said, “The Yoon Seok-yeol government is ignoring the people’s livelihood and the opposition party, its policy partner, and is only preoccupied with the ideological war.”

At the same time, he added, “If the president, who has a constitutional responsibility to make the people happy, actually makes the people unhappy, what should the people do? Our Constitution provides a mechanism called impeachment.”

He said, “If President Yoon is not confident in making the people happy, he should step down from that position,” and “Otherwise, the people will have no choice but to act.” Chairman Jeon said, “I ask the Democratic Party members of the National Assembly to join in the fire of impeachment against the Yoon Seok-yeol administration,” and added, “I will fight together on the front line.”

On this afternoon, rally attendees marched from Hyehwa Station’s Marronnier Park to City Hall Station holding pickets with signs such as ‘People’s Order: Impeachment of Yoon Seok-yeol’ and participated in the rally for about two hours. Even after the rally ended, a second march, holding candles, continued through Myeong-dong and Eulji-ro to City Hall Station.
