Liverpool lost 2-3 to Toulouse in the fourth leg of the 2023-24 UEFA Europa League (UEL) Group E match on Tuesday at 2:45 a.m. ET at the Stade de Toulouse in Toulouse, France.

The Reds lined up in a 4-3-3 formation. Kellerher was in goal, with Cimicas, Kwansa, and Matip-Gomes forming the back four. McAllister-Endo-Elliott were in the midfield and Dias-Hakpo-Doc was up front.

The home team, Toulouse, went with a 4-4-2 formation. Lestes was in goal and Suazo-Nicolaisen-Costa-Deslauriers formed the back four. The midfield was Diarra-Caceres-Cierro-Donnum, and the front two was Darlinga-Schmidt.토토사이트

Liverpool came out firing early in the first half and took the lead. After threatening Toulouse’s goal in the fourth minute with a Gomes header that hit the crossbar, the Reds increased their possession and took control of the game.

By the midway point of the first half, Liverpool were dominating play. Toulouse sat back defensively and looked to capitalize on the quick feet of the forward Darlinga, but were unable to capitalize on their chances as their passes were not precise.

In the 36th minute, after slowly creating chances, Toulouse took the lead. A mistake by Chimikas at the back allowed Donnum to steal the ball, drive in himself and finish with his left foot to give Toulouse the lead.

Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp showed his determination to win the game by taking off Dock, Endo and Cimicas at the start of the second half and bringing on Salah, Alexander-Arnold and Sobosler.

However, Liverpool conceded a further goal. In the 13th minute of the second half, Siero crossed from the right flank and the Liverpool defense completely missed Darlinga. Darlinga calmly collected the ball and fired a right-footed shot into the corner of the net to make it 2-0.

Down by two goals, Liverpool pulled a goal back in the 29th minute. Gomes sent in a cross from the left flank that got tangled up in the Toulouse goalkeeper and defense and found Caceres’ body for an own goal.

However, once again, Toulouse scored a breakaway goal. In the 31st minute, Donnum crossed from the right flank to Suazo on the other side. The ball hit the Liverpool defense and was cleared off the line by Kellerher, but Magri slotted home the rebound to restore the two-goal lead.

Liverpool refused to give up and pulled one back. In the 44th minute, substitute Jota picked up the ball in the central area, dribbled through three defenders and finished with a left-footed shot to cut the deficit to one goal.

Liverpool scored a dramatic equalizer seven minutes into stoppage time, but it was disallowed. Jarel Kwansa rattled the post with a push in the middle of the park, but the goal was disallowed after VAR showed Alexis Sanchez had been handballed in the buildup.

In the end, Liverpool were unable to change the result against Toulouse. With the loss, the Reds suffered their first UEL defeat of the season, leaving qualification for the knockout stages until another time.
